Loving the inclusion here. But would hope they would follow up with a safety guide to LGBT travel or something given what we can and do experience in travel, even in the US. Thoughts?

Top consulting firms right there!!

Looking for some book recommendations :)
Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.
https://ergochair.co/collections/chairs/products/ergonomics-mesh-chair-w-adjustable-headrest-and-armrest?variant=32511617597491
My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
AMA.

Op happened to me last year! Same reasons, also on a Thursday. was an associate as well. Don't worry it'll all turn out the way it's supposed to be. Take the weekend to sulk, get drunk, do whatever. I actually went to the shooting range, it felt good. Tomorrow reach out to your good connections in your network -directors, managers, etc. they'll refer you to their contacts and help you find something. But this is a good time to reevaluate what you actually want to do. I ended up getting out of consulting. You'll land something, just be very proactive about reaching out to networks and people who work at places you're interested in, even cold emailing folks on linked in. Best of luck! Don't worry, I promise this isn't the end!!
I'm really impressed with how everyone here came together and offered OP recs for their firms.
It's a nice departure from the snark I usually see here.
This is why I have a 6 month emergency fund and have the max amt of PTO banked..I trust nobody despite being a top performer.

Associate, Houston, management consulting, Utilization was 92%
So depressed, you guys. I worked my ass off this year and received nothing but positive comments which is why I'm so shocked. Was not planning to be looking for another job...
That's bull OP. I would reach out to your schools career center and warn them - wouldn't want future graduates to go through the same unfair treatment

"I performed well but my peers performed better" even though my snapshots were all at partially at next level which is normal for a first yr Associate
Lol A1, you really think a university it going to take a place like PwC off their preferred employers list because OP got laid off for was described as sub par performance?
Also, DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY. This shit happens and it's not always a reflection of your skills or value.

@OP, I'm in EY OTS in Houston. We are indeed hiring like crazy so if you'd like to talk let me know.
To all the kind people who told me to email my resume to them, I've sent it to you guys 🙂
Ick. Sorry to hear, OP. It sounds like you'll do just fine. You are young and smart and will be a wonderful candidate for much better places than this. PwC has some great people but its management, particularly related to talent deployment and retention, is the absolute worst shit I've ever seen. Literally, a Magic 8 Ball could hire, fire, and allocate better. It amazes me that pwc even sells work in org augmentation and strategy given the way they run their own shop.
Sorry to hear that. EY ots is hiring like cray. What rank, city, and service line?
PwC has made some large acquisitions, its only time they trim fat. Unfortunately OP, you got in the middle of it. Surprised an associate got chopped. Usually fat trimming happens at the higher levels.
Ugh OP I'm so sorry. Unless you majorly violated some policy, it's just wrong of the firm to do that to you. Best of luck with the next chapter!
