If you have a loss you can deduct it.

I have an s-Corp. I would have to file. But you might be able to put it off for quite awhile. The government only really comes knocking if you owe money.

like

If you incurred out of pocket expenses you should file - it’s a deduction!

File anyway

...says that if you don’t make money then you don’t need to file for that year. Anyone have insight into this?

You need to file fed, state and city depending on your locale. Minimum need to pay the $800 yearly llc fee if you are California based.

I’ve always been a big saver minimum 15% to maxing out my 401k since I graduated college. I’m married to someone who thinks 6% is enough and likes $$$ cars. Other than the cars, they dont really spend money. For the married 🐠, how do you have the conversation with them that what they are doing isn’t enough? I try to guide them and say you want the $$$ cars but the salary you have won’t get there and you’re going to have to find a job that gets them the salary…. Then the fight starts.

Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down. I know I should bill a daily rate, but not sure that will fly. Thoughts?

Hi, working FT but looking to go freelance. I’ve set up an LLC and take projects sometimes. I have a diverse skillset in digital. what do you say are the most important skills in the market right now?

My accounting edge finance is not compatible with the new Mac OS. I do not need the $15/month subscription they offering as an upgrade since I’m a lone freelancer. I’ve always kept my own books and did my own taxes. Anyone else out there with a basic bookkeeping program recommendation for Mac would be appreciated.
