Kind of a new distance runner here (completed my first half mara last month) and am usually run on treadmill for workouts during the week. I also wear an Apple Watch. Have noticed that my Apple Watch tends to say I’ve run a longer distance, at a faster speed, than treadmill. (It’s usually up to 0.5 miles off and 0.5mph off in speed). Anyone experience this? Not sure what to trust but assuming Apple Watch. Thoughts?

Congrats on the first half marathon!

Generally, the treadmill will be more accurate. When using an Apple Watch indoors, it is somewhat of an estimate. Your speed/distance is calculated by stride length and stride frequency. So when you run outdoors, it calibrates itself by using the gps distance and stride frequency to calculate your average stride length. And when you run indoors, it uses that calibrated stride length and your actual stride frequency to calculate speed/distance. But your stride length on a treadmill might be slightly off from your stride length outdoors. So that’s the most likely explanation.

I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. Felt so on edge and low on emotional resources for over a week that I wasn’t myself and apparently really rubbed a few people the wrong way so I was called in for a talking to 😣. I let people know there were some personal things going on, but didn’t mention the PTSD—very unsure if that’s something to share, or if I’d be judged for it or... I don’t even know. Has anyone else dealt with PTSD and had it impact them at work, and how did you handle it?

Have tried a few different types of shoes (on cloud / altra / Nike) to no avail. Even tried the loosening of my shoes. Any advice? I’m in good shape and can cycle for 40-60 miles at a time so endurance isn’t the issue, it’s my feet. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions!!!

Finally hit my breaking point. Been nothing but irritable & pissed off these past few weeks. Coach asked me on Friday when I’ll be taking time off & I just broke down. I’m a top performer & a workhorse. I’ve put so much effort into making sure my team is okay I forgot about myself. Now I am buried in work, performance is dropping & I can’t stop crying randomly. I kept telling people I am drowning but no one was listening. Coach is leaning to tell everyone to backoff thankfully.

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. I have not been diagnosed with ADHD. I definitely fit some of the characteristics that go unnoticed in females. The good news is if i do have ADHD, it makes me quite good at my job as I’m very flexible and can provide positive energy to my patients. Anyway, my boss has told me I have ADHD multiple times. It seems rude when she says it, and she follows it up with “I say that because I love you” which i feel is so unprofessional all around. Anyone have guidance on how to handle this?

I gained weight during my last relationship (probably around 30 lbs, and I’m 5’9”). Before my relationship, I felt like I could get any guy. Hey fish - for longer runs outdoors, what do you do about carrying water? Outdoor fountains aren’t really an option right now. 😂😭 Do you prefer to just hold a water bottle? One of those belt things? Female here if it makes any difference.
