Go to their Instagram/social media page and see the company’s culture. I personally don’t like the matching suit jacket and skirt. So old school and cliche. You can look professional without the suit.
If you look good, do it. Accessorize / style it so you don’t look uptight. Boom
I’m not a lady, am I allowed to comment? Anyway, I’d recommend wearing whatever you’d naturally wear at a regular agency when doing an important pitch to a high-level client. If I had to bet, it’s probably not as stuffy as the suit skirt outfit you’re considering. Just be yourself, dress natural, just kick it up a notch.
Pardon, I meant to intentionally dress like how you normally would back in your agency days, just a tad nicer. But if you’re truly worried, maybe find something that sits right between the “look nice for the client” agency–look, and the skirt-suit corporate look. Whatever you find, the key is, you have to feel true to yourself because it can psychologically affect the interview. Good luck!
I’ve been wearing a more casual blazer and some black pants
Wear what makes you feel the most confident. If that’s a skirt suit, do it. It’ll come through in how you present itself.
Brand side often has a bit more of a dressed up culture versus agencies, so I’d do a little social stalking. I’m also always a fan of a nice pencil skirt with a tucked-in, baggy button down. Still says professional, but in a much more youthful, 2019 way. Good luck!! 😊
Good luck. Double check with the recruiter/coordinator. It really depends on what the company culture is.
Good luck, go kill it in whatever you wear.
Personally I like s black dress and booties
Classic with a silk scarf
Wear something that will allow you to not think about what you’re wearing once you’re there. And asking such questions of the HR person at that company should just show you care.
I’m really happy for you ❤️ I’m sure you’ll do great!
dress for the salary you want, but don't look like you're trying too hard.
if you look polished and confident you will match the salary negotiated.
i agree with others that you need to wear something you feel comfortable in. do your thang, girl 💕
Good luck!
Second the suggestions to ask the recruiter/HR person and stalk their social media channels to see what people wear. An alternative to a skirt suit - if you need or want it - is a dress & suit jacket. Good luck!!
I’m a big fan of black fitted capri pant with heels and a cool jacket/blazer. Leather or even a blazer with a vintage tee under it. Be you is most important
It's about looking professional and presentable in a manner that makes you feel good and confident walking into the room. So if that means doing your hair, nails, etc (again whatever makes YOU feel fabulous), you can never go wrong professionally dressing up.
I have a rule that when I interview somewhere I should be slightly more dressed up than whatever is appropriate for the company. Look at what people wear there and step it up one notch. If it’s a jeans and blazer type office, wear black pants instead of jeans. If it’s a matching bottom/top suit and t-shirt type office, swap the t-shirt for a silk blouse. You get the idea. Unless you wear something dramatically inappropriate, no one will notice what you’re wearing
Good luck! Personally, I feel it’s better to be overdressed than under. Also, like the old saying goes - dress for the position that you want not the one you have.
It’s not what you look like, it’s the way you make them feel. Dress for what makes you feel confident and authentic. And yes to all the advice around researching the company culture. But at the end of the day, even if they’re in jeans and tee shirts, you shouldn’t be? They need to see that you “get” adapting appropriately to different situations. Best of luck. You’re gonna rock it!
