Why would the firm pay you severance?
Ask for the Grad School Severance Package
Tell your CC. Why would you want to screw your own employment history and burn bridges with one of the global big firms, just for a petty package...Think longer term, and be a nicer person.
You don't deserve a severance package - you made a choice to leave - you will get unused PTO - agree with others - your thought process about this is messed up.

OP at the end of the day is your call. Not returning to consulting is one thing, but you will still have employment record of being fired. Also why would you want to bring trouble to your new CC for just a little bit of money? Do you hate him/her and the firm that much? I wish you a great career with a JD, but I am hoping you won't become a lawyer with an attitude of "money always comes first"...
