LGA flyers - have you ever taken those "black cab" cars that hustle at arrivals? How much do you pay? Paying 65 this time to go downtown Manhattan

Gypsy cabs = amateur hour

like

So I got into one in the same situation, he got another rider to join (I was annoyed at this point but just wanted to get home). Then he told both of us there was a fee for using a credit card. I told him to stop the car, got my bag out and went to a yellow cab. Don't trust them.

like

Dangit. My driver just said 65 + bridge toll and didn't mention cc fees but either way, I can expense this lesson. :) Glad to hear the price is about right. Also "gypsy cabs" lol.. Very pc.

I remember my first flight home

"Cc fees" give me a break... Every time crap like that in that horrible city (NYC) Can't wait for Uber/Lyft to finish off the cab industry

like

What do you mean D1? Uber wait was 10 mins and cab lines were far. Figured expensing a black car at a lower than black car rate would be decent.

Better hope the gypsy cab takes card

65 is reasonable from LGA. Gypsy cabs are a necessity in Bklyn and Queens.

Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

Trying to figure out if I should start as an inbound SDR, or try jumping straight into an AE role in SaaS.

I left mortgages at the beginning of the year to start a franchise business, it's now semi-self-sufficient so wanted to start a career again and I live in the Silicon Slopes area. Everyone I know is in SaaS or software engineering.

Just wondering if I should push my resume as far as possible and try to snag an AE role or take my time in a new industry and start from the bottom.

I feel like I've been living under a rock for ~5 yrs. I was happy and blowing off money with the thinking that I'll start saving once I start earning more.

Just realised that could've started early. I'm in mid 20s and thinking about investment. Tried watching YouTube videos. But I have pretty basic questions :
1. Where do I even start?
2. What %age of income should I invest?

I hope I'm not late.

I have an offer to do some consulting for a company based out of the UK (I am in the US). The job would not go through a consulting company but would be directly with the company. I have not done any consulting before so I am not sure how it works, what I would need to set up (they mentioned that I would start a LLC and bill them directly, no idea how to do that), how to determine the tax implications of this, or what hourly rate I would expect. Can anyone offer advice?

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I’m very interested in the opportunity but also don’t want to make a poor financial decision early in my career. Thank you for your time!
