Rising Star
Cherry hill to Philly isn’t that far and birth takes many hours. I’d plan to go where the care is best and not worry so much about proximity.
Think about the birth certificate, the kid will either be born in Philadelphia or New Jersey. It may not matter, but it will follow them around for decades. It could impact their political career. Who knows, if the civil war half the country wants breaks out, your birthplace could be a matter of life or death. Many things to consider.
Oh please- civil war comes, people still get to pick their side; it won’t be automatically based on where born. Tons of right wingers born in blue states that now live in Florida!
Is your wife shopping around for new OBs? Otherwise, you’re probably going to deliver where her current OB has privileges…
I’ve heard great things about the Virtua in Voorhees.
Not sure just don’t go to a community hospital.
Penn Medicine is great. Good luck.
I worked many years in the NICU at Pennsylvania Hospital - we had lots of folks coming from Jersey. Countless of my friends of also delivered there, it's the best place to deliver! That said I have heard good things about virtua, and have heard absolutely nothing about Cooper which is probably not a good thing.
Definitely a Pennsylvania hospital! Nobody likes NJ.
I had a horrible birth experience at HUP (Penn). Try Cooper. I’ve heard great things about Pennsylvania Hospital, though it might be far from you too
Pennsy all the way (Not HUP)
My wife choose Pennsy and she’s a HUP physician. At the time we lived in Haddonfield.
Virtua voorhees is excellent. My sister and many of my friends have given birth there and a friend's mom is a nurse in the maternity ward.
