LMM PE vs. FAANG Product Manager vs. MBB?

Going from Big4 to MBB soon. Currently on a long term project with a 2 person team (we're part of larger project team on client side). What's the best way to tell my internal account leadership I want to roll off the the project without telling them I am leaving the firm? I want them to begin search for replacement so we can do proper knowledge transfer and get client comfortable with a new face but don't want to tell them I'm going to another consulting firm yet.

Was told that most FAANG strategy & ops roles consist of ex MBB, S&, Deloitte S&O consultants. How accurate is this? Are ex - tier 2/ACN equally represented or are they disadvantaged?

What are the best firms for strategy consulting? Other than MBB
