Honestly, depends on the company. I know that the place I used to work didn't prioritize SEO at all, but that's because they made most of their money from search ads. Likewise, if a company does really well with its organic content, they might be willing to throw more money into SEO. I think it's most about the skillsets you offer. For instance, technical SEO is going to be in higher demand for higher-paying jobs (typically) and GTM will help you get ahead with SEM.
This is a good answer, but 9 times out of 10 SEM will be king. There’s only so much budget and potential to SEO

Your real salary growth will come from overseeing both. Get into an executive role where you are leading the teams that manage more channels and overall strategy.
