Awesome, I appreciate your help!
I came in as a SC with no experience & a masters degree - 70k in DC.
You’ll likely be SC around 65-75k depending on who you interview with
I can’t imagine you not getting SC unless you’re particularly green in the relevant areas they’re looking for. Good luck!
Honestly tho, if you could come in as a C with the pay you want, I wouldn’t say it’s bad...C’s are hourly at Booz, limits the amount of overtime you’ll do
Thank you everyone! Reason I ask is BAH postings seem a bit inconsistent. Example:
1) one job posting is Strategy SC w/10 years exp. 2) Another posting shows Strategic Mgmt Analyst w/ no exp.
3) another shows ‘Biz Strategy Analyst’ w/3 yrs exp.
4) Then there’s a Strategy & Policy Consultant posting that says “some exp. req.” but does not have a minimum amount of yrs. listed ...
* would the screening system automatically skip my resume if my resume doesn’t reflect 2-3 years of experience for SC postings?
No, they determine your level after the interview.
I was originally interviewing for a C position, but was brought in as a SC.
Apply to anything that is interesting to you or you find requirements for, even better if you have someone to refer you in
Thanks SC1! And I see your point as to coming in at C and being eligible for OT but I still think the title bump would also be good earlier on in career too.
Is it frowned upon to apply to 2-3 jobs at the same time (if they overlap in similar interest areas)?
Personally I wouldn’t say so, when I was referred in, I picked three positions and then applied to each, interviewed for 2, got both, then chose which I enjoyed more
Oh yeah, if you get the money you want and it’s at C, take C lol, you’ll have unbeatable work life balance. But obviously do SC if you’re more career oriented and want to run up the ladder asap.
