I’m worry that I still have like 45 years more to be retired and can’t stop working because I have a f* mortgage to pay 😭 I have a super ergonomic workstation, but I know my hand needs a long rest, and I can’t do it… Does anyone relate? Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. Depending on how many people are there and how it feels, I was planning to stay an hour extra but should I hang around the office until later? First time visiting this city so it’d be great to take in some sights too (although that’s not a priority of course).

In an attempt to be healthier, I built a permanent standing desk. Now, once every couple hours my Apple Watch reminds me “it’s time to stand up” and I feel superior to all those chair sitters out there.

Which portable standing desk converters do people have and recommend. I live in a tiny NYC apartment so use my dining table as the office during the day but need to put it away at night.

First time posting here but… I’m currently a 1st year Tax Analyst making 58,000 plus bonus. I was never informed on how raises work for this company, but it’s the end of the year and there has not been any talk of performance evaluation, which I assumed was when compensation would be covered. Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience.
