Funny you mention it. I’ve tried the same thing, went from QC Specialist, applied to a Regulatory Coordinator and got three rounds of interviews. Still no decision and my application is still “in process.” Coordinator level is probably good if you haven’t done any clinical. Position interacts with IRB a lot. Tracks studies and submissions, amends protocols, that kind of thing.
I’ve looked at Regulatory Specialist because I was told its entry level, but the requirements are not that of an entry level job. I’ll look into the coordinator though. Thank you for the advice!
If you are looking to get into RA, might want to get RAC certified (not sure what the process entails). https://www.raps.org/Certifications/RAC
Some good suggestions here. While I do not work in this function, another strategy could be to land a position in QC at a large pharma company, then do a regulatory rotation. I know that Astellas used to offer 6 month rotations as a benefit, have heard several other companies do something similar. Genentech and Roche offer rotation programs to external applicants if you are within 2 years of graduation.
Find the job spec and try to adapt your cv to it. Do extra courses
