Not possible ATM. You can only right now transfer between the three delivery centers. They have not yet open up the ability to transfer from tradition USDC to virtual USDC and no guarantee that will ever happen. But if it would be possible just keep in mind your compensation will not change for moving to a HCOL city. If you where traditional core you could do a move as long as the office has your OP and the local PPMD at your current location and your new location would support the move (still no comp adjustment, only way to get one is if you're asked to relocate because firm/project need)
This is incorrect - I’ve had a few of my colleagues switch to a different city (outside of the delivery center area). They’re technically still aligned to the closest delivery center however their cost center has changed. You would need to be staffed on a project that doesn’t require you to go to office (majority of projects ATM). To start off, you’d need to get approval from talent (with a compelling reason as to why you want to change locations). But yes, to summarize, it’s possible. Reach out to your coach / talent business advisor to help initiate the process. What I do agree with is that your salary won’t change after relocating.
I’m aligned to the Gilbert office, I have not gone in and do not ever plan on going in
I like fishbowl but I hate the blanket statements some people make.
Nah D1 this isn’t true, it may not be open for your group but I’m in EP and I transferred to the virtual model and moved to a state where there isn’t a delivery center. I got my partners support and a week later my DTE said “Work from Home” instead of AZ. OP make sure ur project is good with it and reach out to the partner that leads your group and let them know you want to go virtual, it’s not a big deal at all. I work with several new hires who live all over the country and if you can live in SF off the USDC salary good for you! I’m planning my next move to southern Cali myself

Definitely possible, reach out to your coach and manager. As long as their on board and can get your PPMD approval you’re golden. My manager was onboard with me being fully remote from the get go. So when I told him I was moving he emailed the PPMD saying I’d done a great job and that this change was just logistical as I would continue supporting the engagement. PPMD replied approved, I forwarded the email to talent and in two weeks was assigned to a core office. Even though I’m still USDC my home office is core. Pay did not change though so keep that in mind. SF is expensive.
Thank you everyone!
There's a tranfer freeze right now, but it is lifted soon. I moved from SF area to SoCal in October. It's completely possible.
The freeze lifted 1 June- if your Advisory USDC, reach out to your RM and TBA to start the self- relocation process.
If your Consulting USDC, talk with your TBA as they have different policies about who can go virtual.
