There’s a senior architect at my firm that’s absolutely toxic as heck but on Fridays, he becomes his alter ego. All like “Happy Friday!” and “you’re very welcome” and “hope you have a fantastic weekend!” No joke, he really is a different person.

Really looking for a way to turn around a toxic building culture with staff to staff bullying, cliques/social isolation, hard feelings on big topics (racism, non acceptance of gender identity). Last year the staff polarized with the lead bully whom I helped leave. And the lead gossip (who was my secretary) that gained their sympathy and turned them against me. She also left. Now I need to regain trust and eliminate unacceptable teacher behaviors. Open to any and all advice.

This is twice now in back to back weeks my boss has asked me where the disconnect was in our communications because I didn’t deliver on what “was asked”, even though I know damn well what was asked and what was done were the same thing. I’m not sure if he’s changing the meaning or isn’t communicating what he’s envisioning or what but it’s embarrassing to be called out like that, and to have people think you’re the dumb 23 year old.

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Can I still work as a telemarketer even though I have a noticeable accent? People don't say they can't understand me but they seem relieved when they get to talk to somebody else.
