This is insane unless you don’t plan on doing much besides being at the hotel
Agree. Hotel/accommodation is a stopping-off point… don’t need fancy unless you want to splurge on a resort for a few days where you’re just at the hotel

Sounds about right. Maybe even a bit low depending on where you're going.
Rught, but you added the qualifier “luxury.” Which just makes my point.

Where in Europe? I’d aim for $300-400 a night. In my experience, you don’t see a huge change in quality anyway until you hit $1200+ so it’s not worth it unless it’s a special hotel for some reason (special location, unique services/amenities, etc)

High season? If so that makes a bit more sense. But I would try to avoid spending that much.
This is the exact range I did for my Spanish vacation. Madrid, Barcelona, Costa Brava. All five star accommodations

I generally do 150ish and have stayed in Airbnbs in all my three euro trips. I spend more on experiences and food.

I never ever spend more than $250 max.
But I ball out on fine dining and excursions.
I’d rather pay for memories than where I’m going to sleep—as long as it’s air conditioned, quiet, safe, comfy, and has hotttt water, what more do I need?
$500-700 seems like a LOT for even a few nights but I have no idea what your financial situation is (spouse/partner, wealth, debt, spending habits)

Everyone has their own preferences around these things. I’m a senior associate going on my honeymoon (albeit in Southeast Asia—cheaper than Europe) and trying to keep things to $300-$500 /night (for two of us), and seeing even some of that as a honeymoon splurge. But I’ve never cared that much for luxury stuff/accommodations.
$700/night for one person is kinda wild to me, but if your savings rate is where you want it to be, go for it.
I think it depends on what’s important to you. I am a 4th year with a euro trip coming up and spent around $500 a night on the hotels I didn’t get with points. I value comfort, cleanliness and aesthetics when I’m on vacation so I think it’s worth it, but I have coworkers that care more about shopping or experiences while there so they save money for that.

I spent a little over $2000 on my 2 week Europe trip that I just came from but am more on the frugal side
Total?! That is wild

Damn I spent $850 a night for 3 nights on my honeymoon and thought that was crazy. I usually spend around $300 a night, up to $500 in a really overpriced area.
Per night? Depends on where, but about $150-$200. I’m there to see the cities, not to stay in my hotel.
