And for those who might ask… it’s a Chargriller 980 charcoal gravity smoker. Pumped for it to get it seasoned and running this weekend.
For a lot of moms, especially first timers, their pre-baby wardrobe is no longer as functional and fitting as it once was. This was the case for my wife and she loved me researching and getting her a closet consultant to help her rethink her clothes. (Word of warning though - if she’s not feeling great about herself this could be perceived as really loving or insensitive. So, YMMV)
Her rate was $150/hr in the NY market (2019). I’ll DM you her website for comparison.
Personalized book with pictures of your baby. You can have this done on Wonderbly or Etsy. I wouldn't give this as a standalone gift though.
Great idea. We already do a monthly book of photos of the baby (chat books) where we pick photos together. Otherwise it’d be ideal.

Appreciate all the thoughts. I’m going to roll with the closet consultant thing. Or look up some type of trunk club style thing… she mentioned a while back how hard shopping will be but that she really needs it.
Ha, McK1, Lol love the framework applied to gifting. 😂
I’d give her a day off, a spa day perhaps. Tell her you will stay up and feed the baby.
Most treasured F day gift was a sign saying LOVE on some wood with white paint. The V was the kids feet and the O a handprint. Has some small pink flowers on it but she got the idea from Etsy I think
First Mother’s Day?….. let her go out with friends and have a day/night for herself while you watch the spawn from dusk to dawn. That’s the answer for #1
Some jewelry might be nice if she's into that? What's something that she loves but would never splurge on for herself?
Not super into it but has lots. I have been thinking about something with our daughters birthstone though… I think she’d like that.
A gift certificate for a massage or spa day. Perfect if she's a new mom. Enjoy that smoker, man. I'm jealous.
Encourage her to take a morning and go to the spa— with a girlfriend would be even better. It was hard for my wife to get into a habit of doing things without our first and it wasn’t good. She didn’t realize how much she was missing time with her girlfriends until she did it.
A go to for me has been both Etsy and Minted. I’ve gone with hand crafted jewelry with things like north stones for our kids or photo collages over the course of the last year.
