I used to live in Oakland and took the ferry to my office in SF. It is the most civilized commute you will ever experience and I miss it everyday!
How anyone can afford to live there is beyond me
Marin is an amazing place to live. If you expect your clients / day-to-day work to be in SF proper, I would do it in a heartbeat.
Unfortunately most consulting firms in SF have most their clients in San Jose / Palo Alto and that drive from Marin would SUCK
Don't call it San Fran. It's San Francisco. And no one who is working in the Bay Area would live in Marin unless you were working for a company there.
The bar on the larkspur ferry into the ferry building is stocked and phenomenal. Cash only tho.
^^^ Agree with above - don't call it San Fran- call it San Francisco or SF :). Living in Marin is a good choice if you're guaranteed a job in the city. The commute to the South Bay (majority of our clients) would easily be 2+ hrs from Marin.
"There" meaning all of NoCal? Rent on houses seems cheaper than in the city, Oakland, Berkeley. Got a family and dog in tow
You're my heros!
