Currently live in Durham and love it. Also big on outdoors fun and we're about 15 minutes from the Eno River. We love it for hiking and Camping on weekends. Nothing near as grand as Colorado but you get a little of the flavor with zero commute. There's also tons of festivals, popup, a great food scene (Raleigh is great for that too) and friendly people.

“Zero commute” that’s the key. Never happens in Den.
I grew up in NC and Durham is super fun. I live in Raleigh and it’s more expensive and stuffy IMO. Clayton and garner are cheaper but harder to find friends and do fun things. Be sure to visit Umstead state park.
I love the brier creek area and very close to Umstead. You will be 15 minutes to downtown Durham and 20 minutes to downtown Raleigh, along with being a growing area that is in between.
Following. Actually looking at doing the same thing from denver with my partner as well. She feels the same way
A1 same here. That and Denver winters are long… and it’s overall just turned into a crusty city that’s lost it’s luster.
I live close to the Raleigh/Cary boarder. Been here 25+ years. Tough to pick the best place to live now that so many places allow work from home.
If interested, we have a great meetup group of Broncos fans.
I’d be down!
