Is there another RSM bowl?
EY recruiting is such a mess. Applied and did a pre-recorded video interview, heard nothing for like 3 weeks. Then I get a random call saying they liked me and would I be available to attend an interview the following day. I say yes but never receive an email or additional details. Call back the number and it goes to voicemail. The following week I get a rejection email. Just so frustrating EY

I totally agree here. Your firm is treating it as a support group that takes time away from your billables that your white colleagues don't have to do. It's insulting.
And as a result, expecting non-white employees to attend to such additional tasks perpetuates unequal treatment
At my firm it was the opposite. DEI was specifically for non-marginalized communities. In addition the expectation was that they’d do the necessary work without simply relying on the “expertise” of all the employees of color who just happened to have lived experiences. I left for different reasons but I saw the commitment to learning and investing in a specialty trainer as a good thing.
Yes, please tell us what firm this is.
I mean if anything it sends a message to the rest of the firm about what the partners think about DEI. Anyone who wants to be a serious leader should attend these seminars. But they don't of course
I’m beginning to think the white male power partners are just using us so they can log how many hours/activities the firm did related to DEI, knowing full well that the minorities are doing the extra work
Agree! I don't understand how they make us feel like the DEI is designed to be consumed BY us and not FOR us. They've got it all mixed up.
Agreed!!
