It’ll be fine. We’re a hidden gem. Fresh water lake. No forest fires, earthquakes, mudslides, floods, hurricanes, etc. Look at the rest of the country and realize, weather-wise, we’re actually doing pretty well. So NY and LA can call us flyover states all they want but …

like

You’re a VP…. How impacted are you really going to be? A little cold when you leave your home? It’s not like a hurricane is going to rip through DT Chicago or the burbs.

like

What does that have to do with anything?

Climate anxiety lol

Heard it’s gonna be a bad winter.

I’m already feeling depressed. I try to challenge how much truth is there about my assumptions about the weather. I also think of things I’d be interested in doing during the winter. For me, the opera and the symphony orchestra are back in a few weeks so I bought season tickets and book restaurant reservations, start a new hobby like boulder climbing, pick up new books to read mostly review books for me lol so I can get a job in Wealth Management by year end. Haha just sharing my ideas that might also might inspire you to do something you would be excited about

Thank you for sharing

I feel that same anxiety.
We have a large unhoused population and handing out blankets and hothands can only do so much.

I hear you!

Ugh…it’s going to be my first chicago winter and I’m literally terrified. The increasing push for being in the agency is adding to the anxiety. I’m busy googling hygge and buying comfy throws & fairy lights 😂

When did you decide to get medicated? I have what I’d call “high functioning” depression and anxiety. See a therapist and all, but still deal with lows that seem hard to overcome for weeks on end - losing interest, hard to focus on work, sleeping difficulties, etc. Hard to tell when to make that decision!

Wavering between tired and happy. Finally getting my stamina back post covid. I've walked 10 miles in the past week. Pre covid I was walking between 2 and 4 miles a day. But I can tell I'm still not 100 percent. I'm so tired in the evenings. Hopefully that will fade the next couple of weeks.

I feel like I’ve been neglecting this bowl. 😔 I’ve been doing keto with 16/8 intermittent fasting for the past month. By the time it hits my eating window, I’m starving and I don’t have time to make instagrammable meals. Like the one below 😄: Eggs and breakfast sausage with Spanish and Buttered cauliflower rice, and a salad. Not very exciting, I know. But what’s exciting is I dropped 15lbs!!! 😁

Having some severe Executive Dysfunction atm. I can't imagine that the patent attorney bowl here is short on the neurodivergent. Suggestions/tips/tricks/advice are all appreciated. I recently moved, bought my first home, got vaccinated, etc. - basically just a huge load of stressful events that are probably doing a number on my brain, but I also just can't seem to get on top of.

Please, if you're neurotypical, think thrice before posting - I'm not normal, and want help, not stress or dismiss

I might have a spending problem. I don’t think (?) I have a full blown addiction, but I’m cleaning out my closet and finding stuff that is few years old, still with the tags on, and lots of duplicates. I get a dopamine hit when I find a good deal and I’m wondering if it’s going too far. I can pay my bills, but I’m wasting a lot of $$ on things I don’t need. I have multiple family members who are/were addicts and hoarders and my own behavior is making me nervous. Any other big shoppers out there?

I'm trying to figure out how to pivot out of my current job. My department is in utter chaos, which has just become completely unmanageable. I'm looking for front-end web design work, and work from home. I am a strong designer and basically set up landing pages for large companies on a proprietary CMS in our company. If anyone knows of places I could apply? I'm not trying to reinvent myself as I do artwork on the side and would rather grow that business and get out of the chaos of fortune 500.
