Are we the same person, lol? Sometimes I think about all the rabbits running around in my brain and wonder who gave me any sort of responsibility. If my colleagues or my employees actually saw how my mind worked, they would be shocked 😆 I think that's just one of the things about having high functioning ADHD, the imposter syndrome that never seems to go away.
I think the same about transitioning to assistant director. This gives me hope.
But have you tried the flavor of ADHD that refuses to let you delegate anything before infusing the flavor of the complete lack of will to do anything for a double dose of workload and stress? This isn't by any means a recommendation to try it. But really, why do we do this to ourselves?
My employees are all ADHD too (unintentional but nice in a lot of ways, and challenging in others) so they get how my brain works. And for others, I’m not shy about explaining it succinctly to help them get why I do things the way I do them…
A person after my own heart I swear. I do not know how I finished college three times and ended up with an advanced degree or how I ended up in charge of other people when I do everything in a panic induced rush which involves tears and still being a little distracted from being an honest
