My organization (name doesn't matters) is forcing me to work on every weekend including holidays without any comp offs, in the name of criticality. How to deal with this situation without resignation?

How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

Name matters not for you but definitely for others who are in the process to join or are thinking of. Instead of being selfish look out to help others. Its just a name and you won't have any impact of disclosing. We are here to help each other.
Agree
SET BOUNDARIES, say no…that’s all you can do. They cannot force you to work every weekend and holiday. If they terminate you, that’s a nice lawsuit. Have it all in writing, save everything. If they verbally tell you something, follow up with email.
I’d put it in writing “I am a team player and helped the project by giving up my personal time to work weekends (list the days) and holidays (list the name and date). It’s important that we find another solution to deliver (push back timelines, bring on additional resource etc) as this is not sustainable. Working 7 days a week without breaks has impacted my mental health. Going forward I will only be available to work during business days and hours. 8-6pm.
For weekend tell them you are traveling or any other personal work. They can't force you. And don't be easily available. Otherwise they will keep calling you for weekend.
Is it intel. That company also used to do like that in the name of critical work. For three years I work like that. Please don't join intel.
Hardware roles. 30% intel top employees left.
I had similar experience when I worked for NSEIT
Didn't get you
Your reference suggests you work in infosys,
Are you really sure its your company which is forcing you to work on weekend or is it really a person or group of persons (manager etc)
Working in Service based Companies with such a big workforce has its own advantages, you can fight your battle for truth by escalating up your issue to the management ladder.
Worst they can do is to give you a poor hike or no hike( but if you are too good for them even then hike is negligible) so its not a big loss.
And this all you need to do if you still want to be part of the company, otherwise there are plethora of options floating around in the market.

How long is this phase for
If it's few weeks or months
Find out from teammates or manager
Just because they are saying until April end that doesn't mean it will be April end. This is just a way to tell you not to bring up this concern until end of april. If it is end of april then good for you, but that is 40days(approximately)out.
Form a Union/Look for Unions in your company who can fight for it and take it to HR

Is it really critical
Did you connect with other teammates from your project does it happen often?
Sometimes project do get timelines missed and all , and if it has not happened before then probably you can work like this sometime.
Your manager might be having pressure to deliver. Co-operate if reasons are genuine.
But if it has happened before and it's very often then it's a red flag. Run away or stand your ground that you won't work extra.

whats the matter with you? why you acting like a retard. You want people to help you and you are not naming the organisation inspite of several requests. It shows how your attitude and rudeness or thinking that you are some kind of superior to al others here.. no wonder your company is making you punished by working on weekends..I feel you kinda deserve such treatment.
