Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Delhi and Mumbai has direct flights to New York area.
From my experience delta is winner
1) Air India - that will be their max comfort from comfort zone point of view.
Although BOM - EWR flight allows only 1 bag per person where as BOM - JFK allows 2 bags
Air India food is good - specially from parents’ point of view
My mother in law travelled on Air India and she didn’t have any complaints whatsoever ( she is also low maintenance:) )
My friend’s dad travels on air India all the time and he sticks with AI
2) Delta - they recently started BOM-JFK and from my experience with delta - I’ll book with delta any given day!
If you book in advance then you can get premium Economy ( which is their 2nd tier cabin after delta one) in about $1800. It gives plenty of legroom plus good attention compared to comf plus or economy. I travel on delta domestically and they are setting themselves apart from AA and UA and upping their game all the time.
Go for this in my opinion!
3) united - this is shit show for most part. I’ve travelled on this route a few times and I’ll never fly United again.
They don’t care at all! Specially on this route they gave older plane on all 3 occasions that I’ve travelled and it was very uncomfortable and only 1 checked bag per person from what I remember.
That’s not a global airline policy. If they did do it, it was a favor to you.
British and qatar airways are good
Looking for direct flights since they have trouble walking much.
What health insurance are you getting for them?
Old post about this.

They prefer Indian food and a bit of legroom with clean bathrooms would be nice.
2. What health insurance cover should I get? My parents have stents so worried that they might need care in the US.
The route matters too - which city to city?
When is the off season?
Or you can provide wheel chair access to them so that there is no need for them to walk if you don’t want to splurge on business class
Yes planning to get them wheelchairs.
Thanks everyone for the comments! They really want a direct flight, so please let me know your experience of United, delta and air India direct flights.
They’re all equally shit especially in economy
^ pretty much covered everything spot on.
Consider delta as stated. Food not the best but otherwise comfortable flight..
Second the delta decision. Best customer service. They recently started the Bombay direct flight (dec 2019 I think). Have a bunch of points to blow up so I think my next India trip will be on that.
No answers on the insurance. I’m curious myself. Parents and in-laws might need medical help and I wanted to see if any of the fish have experiences with submitting claims etc..
Whatever skyscanner gives as the best price us the best airline.
