Oh boy, be prepared to feel poor very quickly here.
Moving from public sector to private sector, I am used to a set range. But I have heard of SCs coming in with no industry experience the same base as me. No rhyme or reason it seems.

Our fresh grad business analysts earn around 115k base, 127k total with 0 years of experience.

Lmao look at that, MBBers humblebragging again without actually intending to thoughtfully answer the OP's question

Depends on offering at D. I’d say it’s low for a 10 year SC here, but our government consultants also make significantly less than commercial.
Idk about significantly less based on the salary/tc survey here but they definitely don’t earn as much as commercial. However, if you have a skill set that’s in need they still pay super well, and bonus is really decent wlb
Honestly never heard of your firm so may be why. But after 10 years of experience our auditors are making significantly more than that and they’re usually the lowest
Thanks. It is s small New England firm. 800 employees total including accounting I think. I have a contact (not a consultant though) who works at EY and recommends them.
I think its based on the size of your firm because the level of clients and work is different
You want more, need to go to a larger firm
I mean 115k is very standard for senior consultant level
That’s extremely high for the country, better than your peers, better than your entire graduating class
But that’s poverty level on fishbowl. Sorry
How many YOE?
Agree with the sentiment though that that is pretty low for 10 years, even factoring in government jobs make less

I’ve been a manager for less than a year, primarily working on government jobs, and $115 is my base. Salaries are all over the place for different levels, different service lines, different client types. Your best bet is to compare your salary to the billable rates charged to your clients for your work. Does your salary look reasonable compared to what’s being billed?
Thanks for the info and background. Very helpful!
Agree it sounds low, but lots of factors to consider. Cost of living, years of relevant experience, level of education. I recommend having a conversation with your coach / counselor after year end if new comp doesn’t land where you want. Nobody’s gonna go out of their way to pay you more than they feel they think you’re worth - they’ll probably assume you’re happy with comp if you’re not quitting and not questioning.
