My significant other just walked behind me in his underwear while I was on a zoom call and I’m upset. Do you think I’ll get in trouble at work?

Omg. I'm so sorry but this is hilarious

If you work with people who will write you up over that rather than laugh it off, that's pretty sad

likesmart

I would be more worried about someone screen capturing it to put it on the big screen when you make partner!!!!

funnylike

At least he had underwear on. How would you get in trouble? Also boxer, brief, thong, etc?

funnylike

As long as your significant other is not Jeffrey Toobin you will be fine.

funny

This happened to me but I was the boyfriend

funny

Ugh what a Wednesday 🙃

funnylike

You’re fine, promise.

If you don’t want a background, try blurring instead.

Lol nah I don’t think you will but would recommend those “backgrounds” next time 🤣

like

Deny, deny, deny. If anyone brings it up, ask them whether they’re saying your place is haunted, as no one else was home at that point. Deny, deny, deny 🤣🤣

funny

I doubt you will get reprimanded. I also doubt anyone will ever mention it to you

Part of zoom life. Spouses, kids and life is generally messier than we like to pretend. You’ll be fine.

like

Just apologize if anyone asks and he didn’t mean it.

likehelpful

You’ll be fine. I would be annoyed, as someone who tries to keep things as professional as possible, and maybe just ask him in the future to wear pants during work hours.

like

“Please wear pants during work hours” 😂😂😂

funnylike

If no one said anything afterwards, I'd honestly be a little bit concerned. Mr. Toobin anyone?

If someone said something jokingly and everyone laughed it off and you apologized - that's obviously the best case scenario.

I'm with others though, I don't think any of my coworkers would find it anything other than funny.

My house is shaped like a U and you can see into the dining room window from my office window and you USED to be able to see straight through when I was on video. My husband walked through the dining room naked to use the downstairs shower (no idea why!) My manager said they only saw a topless white guy, but an associate/friend went “oh yeah, totally naked, for sure 😉”. I was far more embarrassed than I needed to be - it became a highlight of this awful year.

like

What was the context of the call?

Most people are so busy looking at themselves on screen, they probably didn't even notice! And if they did, it will bring a smile for most people. You won't get into trouble - just forget about it.

I don’t think anyone really cares. If employers expect you to be working from home and on camera during all of these circumstances then they should be understanding that these things will happen from time to time. If not, shame on them.

This post has made my day 😂😂😂

I have a wee crush on one of the partners in my firm and I thought he liked me too, but neither of us did anything about it (which is entirely appropriate). That was all pre-Rona. Now I’m leaving the firm and pursuing another opportunity and staying in the same city. Since he’ll no longer be my boss, is there a way to find out if my feeling was correct? How should I go about this? (Especially given Rona?)

I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense. I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. Is this just because I never get to work with other juniors and don’t see the mistakes they make, and that it’s relatively normal? And FWIW I went to HYS and I’ve had a clerkship so it’s not like I’m not smart

IEP, 504, and those without internet will return in-person next week while rest of students remain remote. They are saying it’s a liability issue if they have one student in the room with them, even though teaching other via Zoom. Thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this?

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute.
