And Journal. Set aside an hour each week (or time daily!) and do the work on your own. Put together a list of prompts in advance, or reflect on the week and what you would normally talk to her about.
The week before she comes back, sift through all your entries. What stands out? What was a passing issue that no longer matters? What patterns can you share with her that can help you both further refine your approach to your mental health moving forward? Go into your following few sessions with a clear agenda coming out of that.
I’m at the tail end of a 7 week break from therapy because my therapist had a baby. I was very worried about how i would cope, but it ended up being a nice break and helped me gain perspective. I’m actually nervous about starting again which is making me realize that I have some attachment issues that I need to work through. One thing that helped me is to approach it as an experiment and stay curious about what comes up. Good luck! You’ll do great.
