You only have a limited number of Christmas’s in your life. Even less with your parents. Don’t waste them trying to learn excel
Chill out... it’s the first thing you’re going to need to learn to make it in this game without losing it. Segregate work time and relax time. Get good at it or you’ll get gone.
I divide it into technical learning (excel, analytics tools), market learning (economist and WSJ reading), industry learning (reading up on client and competitors) and strategic learning (books, autobiographies). There are more ways to look at it but this works for me. I then just try and do one or two of these depending on how the mood takes me. If I’m not feeling it, a couple of economist or WSJ articles is good. If I’ve motivated, learn some new formulas or excel tricks. Keeps you moving forward no matter how you feel.
I like the way you approached this. Thanks for sharing!
Learn excel
Relax. Enjoy your time. There will be plenty of time to destroy your life later ;)
Learn how to take a breath and a break. Best technical skill there is in a high stress industry.
Yeah, suggest reading “the power of now"
Seriously listen to everyone here and enjoy your time off you absolutely don’t need to spend your break that way unless you’d actively enjoy it
Switch of the brain and learn something enlightening www.masterclass.com
Excel isn't technical. Enjoy your time at this time of the year and then try delving into basics of data science, machine learning on Udemy or Coursera .
Even better, brush up on your python, pick up intro to statistical learning and check out the fast.ai courses.
Udemy stuff isnt particularly high quality and most coursera stuff (even ng) is a bit dated and doesnt get into application fast enough.

You parent won’t see this, relax and go have some drinks
Learn how to recognize when you should just unplug and relax; don’t burn yourself out
Learn how to relax. Seriously you do plenty enough learning on the job
Having been in consulting for years and years, I agree with the people who suggest you enjoy the break, and from experience recommend that you enjoy the time with your family. It's easier to appreciate your parents when you are an adult; take the opportunity to connect with them now.
If you really need to think about professional growth, take an hour and determine what you are interested in and the areas you want to work in professionally. Take time to ponder and reflect, and outline your own plan. Make it yours and you'll be much more likely to accomplish it and enjoy the experience.
go to sleep man
Really, how many breaks do you get completely guilt free? Meet up with friends, family, get outside, organize your place.
Honestly just relax and enjoy quality time with friends and family!
Enjoy and relax. There will be SO many breaks that will be subsumed with work. Trust us. Your brain needs to recharge and you’ll come back fresh and ready to kill it in 2019.
I agree that you should definitely relax and take a break. I'd suggest reading if you want do anything. My coach suggested to me "Getting to Yes" which is a good negotiations book, as negotiating is a great work and life skill to have.
