any telltale signs of layoffs in tiger?
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

My probation was supposed to be of 6 months (i.e until June 2022), but today I received a notification in Workday that I have passed my probation.
How is this possible?
I was planning to resign within probation for 30days notice period. But now this happened. Will this change my notice period to 90days??

Not all heroes wear capes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just saw this on Twitter. He’s my hero. Best line in article though is at the end where they say he and his creative partner (not the clown), got a job at DDB. 😂
They should make that guy president of the agency
Some people still remember that this should be a funny industry.
This made my week. And to think I was creeped out by clowns now I know there’s a time and place for them 🤣
Not sure whether to laugh or cry that we work in an industry where bringing in a mime clown, seems like a fairly sensible and appropriate response to the constant waves of layoffs and displacement. Glad this team landed on their clown shoes. 👏
I need this energy
That is the biggest mistake I can imagine!
I would absolutely put that clown’s teeth down the back of its throat if it mimicked crying while I was canned.
Lol the guy getting canned brought the clown
I really wish I had that this during my lay-off. Instead of crying I’d have asked him to mime a fist pump and high-five me since I knew it was coming, had already lawyered up and was just waiting for the severance.
