Maybe he's feeling burnt out, has some personal stuff going on, or needs to manage his life a bit. Y'all need to not assume the worst right away. Let the guy live a bit, he's trying to complete his work with a little flexibility -- us hating on that just perpetuates the stigma around work/life balance.

SA1, with a few exceptions, my experience is that people are incredibly unproductive when they work from home. A day is fine (isn't that what Fridays are for?) but if it's a remote week you need to count on your team actually being productive or there won't be any more remote weeks.
Depends on the team, I remote frequently and I'm more productive on those days (and work longer hours) than when in the office. I find folks constantly interrupt me in the office and I get burned out much faster than if I can make a quick bfast and wear comfy clothes while I crank out my work.
Give him the benefit of the doubt first. If his work isn't as great this week, then judge.
