Odd question, but I’m starting a new job in a few days. Am I able to use the private medical insurance at my new company straight away? Or do I have to wait for probation period to finish?

Probably don’t have to wait for probation period to finish, but it might be a couple weeks to get registered and everything set up.

Also, don't assume that the registration that M1 mentions is automatic; you may have to fill out forms, make animal sacrifices, etc. Strongly recommend that you read the related intranet page or talk to HR as as soon as you join.

🌚 I’m almost 8 months pregnant and I’ve been waking up after only 5 hours of sleep to go to the bathroom (can’t hold pee longer 😩) - and can’t fall back to sleep. But then I’m a zombie and need a 2-hour nap in the morning, which is disruptive. Is there a more productive way to do a full night? (Natural sleeping pills? Chocolate?)

I'm 16 weeks pregnant (1st time). My office (in NYC) is re-starting back to work in 2 weeks. I previously had an exemption for fertility treatments as exemptions were given for any medical reason. Now there are no more exemptions being given & I would need to request one from my LoB head.

I have a new team whom I have never met & if I don't go back now, I wont see them until Dec. I am boosted but my commute is about an hour including bus ride & a 25 min walk each way. What would you do?

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

Hi girls,

I joined the current company when I was about 2 months pregnant and they were extremely welcoming.. My baby is now 2+ years and we are planning to have another baby soon. What are your views on opting for the maternity leaves 2nd time within 3.5 years of joining the company? Would it reflect badly on me? Btw, I'm a high perfomer at my company and have also had a promotion recently. I am feeling too guilty but baby no.2 is also a priority given the age factor and the fertility concerns

Has anyone else had a really hard time online dating with Covid? I’m aware things are getting better but I prefer to do outdoor first dates to be on the safe side. No judgement to anyone that does differently. It’s just what I feel comfortable with. I’ve had a few guys tell me they won’t do outdoor dates for some reason… some have cited weather but others legit say no (in 70 weather) because it’s a hassle & “Covid is a joke.” Please tell me if this is normal.
