Fidelity Investments I joined FIL on 08th August 2022 and hence was eligible for appraisal but even after a good feedback, I was told that there is no increment in salary as well as bonus because of "Too Soon To Decide" rating. M&A tax hands down
What’s the reasoning?

I work in audit and I think you should do M&A Tax. It is more specialized with fewer exit oops compared to audit but you get paid significantly more
M&A Tax pays much more in the long run, but you have to like tax. From audit you can go to FDD or something different. Just have to have a solid plan

M&A tax pays the most in accounting

Either the audit job is paying a big premium to come in or the M&A tax job is paying you way under.
Very surprised that the starting offers are the same for audit and m&a tax. M&a tax pays much more than audit

Yeah it's a shitty offer but OP can bounce after a year and earn 50% more at another firm
M&A Tax pays more. There is also more opportunity for growth. But what are your goals? That matters
I would say M&A from what I have heard.
I'd go for the audit since you said that offers for both roles have similar rate for the base. No one stays longer than 2 years in M&A. It's boring and mundane.
