Just joined S&C from 8 YOE in industry. Joined as M1, but was also a manager in former industry role. How soon is reasonable to be thinking about promotion Senior Manager? What kind of salary increase comes with this promotion?

Also, I negotiated current salary when the offer came 5 months ago now, not taking into account high increases in inflation. Do salaries get adjusted for inflation? And if so, when?

Has anyone done the GARP Financial Risk and Regulation course? Was it educational? Did you do the FRM after?

Going from 165 as an ACD to 210 as a CD? Is that about right?

What are the key differences in an account management role between PR firms and traditional ad agencies? Are there any major skills someone would need to build when transitioning to ad land? Or is a lot of it transferable?

How difficult is it to start a solo firm? I’m a first year attorney working in insurance defense in Florida. I love my firm and the mentoring I’m receiving and I’m definitely not looking to move anytime soon, but I would love to start my own firm once I feel competent. Maybe in a few years. Tips for bankruptcy associates who eventually want to move in-house? 3rd year associate in bankruptcy/restructuring group doing mainly bk lit but a few deals too. Need to stay in BL for at least another year for the money, but eventually want to move in-house. The path to in-house seems more straightforward for general commercial lit or more standard transactional practices. Any tips for someone who’s practice is a bit of a hybrid (and who will never likely do discovery or handle a depo)

Help - how do I fight claims by scammer healthcare providers?

I recently went to 2 different providers.

Dentist, made appt via Zocdoc to see a dentist that was in network. Another dentist at the location saw me instead who was out of network. I have text evidence they said it would be covered before visit. Claim was denied - asking for ~500 dollars.

Saw a specialist who’s office staff verified my insurance would fully cover the claim. Get the claim, says they are out of network. Owe 600.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
