Okay I know this sounds crazy, but I introduced a 'failure wall' on my team where we openly shared lessons learned from experiments that didn’t go as planned. It actually really shifted our mindset and encouraged more innovation and collaboration. Curious to hear what strategies you all have used to nurture creativity in your teams!

I really love that idea! Normalize trying and failing. Even though it is failures, still could be ideas that work somewhere else or with some tweaking. Definitely giving me some inspiration to start something similar, or maybe even open up the floor to my team and see if they would like it.

I had a great review and a 5.5% raise and a great bonus at my company. But I also got a new Director and a peer manager of mine left the company, so I will be absorbing her team. Any thoughts on how do we deal with an incompetent boss who you dont look up to and have no trust that you would ever get credit for the work you would do for him/her? Given that changing the boss is not an option.

"Everybody can be a leader" some say... "Leaders are nurtured not born" say others... True.

But... this is also true: "not everybody wants to be a leader" (whether they can or can't be). It is a fairly common practice in organizations with traditional career management structures for people to "be promoted" into leadership roles as the "end steps of the corporate ladder" that was climbed doing technical work. And, unfortunately, this doesn't work all the time
