EY recruiting is such a mess. Applied and did a pre-recorded video interview, heard nothing for like 3 weeks. Then I get a random call saying they liked me and would I be available to attend an interview the following day. I say yes but never receive an email or additional details. Call back the number and it goes to voicemail. The following week I get a rejection email. Just so frustrating EY

I think EY will let them go. But not until after busy season unless they really are that bad. I only saw it once where a staff got let go during busy season.
Yeah they probably won't let him go immediately. Just wondering if he'll still be around in October to not be promoted.
Eventually they will be let go if on a PIP and no improvement, but usually the firm is pretty good about telling them they aren’t improving and aren’t going to have a future at the firm and give them time to go out and find something else
They have a hard deadline before getting fired. If they SHOW improvement and get taken off the PIP/get to stay, then they will not be promoted. It is almost impossible to get a PIP and a promo in the same year. since he is NOT showing improvement, he will be fired way before then.
The firm will fire them right before busy season ended or by annual evaluation mostly. They are going to use you till the end.
Not sure how EY works but we actually demote people (if they're higher than year 1) and make them move into solution areas where the learning curve may be less steep before letting them go. But only if they have a good attitude and try hard but things just arent clicking for them
