@OP: Get over yourself. They probably did have an epi pen. Doesn't mean they want someone to use it to stop a seizure.
You sound like a douchebag. "[P]art of having an allergy" is taking necessary precautions so that aren't triggered so that they don't "make everyone else" deal with their allergic reaction.
My son had a severe peanut allergy. We fly JetBlue because they are the best in terms of accommodating. They allow you to board early to wipe down the seats and will notify the people around you. They also never serve peanuts so you don't have to worry about that. They have nut free chocolate chip cookies too for the kids.
OP and EY1 are seriously ridiculous. I have been on flights where we were asked to not eat any peanuts and I was perfectly ok with it. You'll have many more flights where you can eat peanuts, it's literally not a big deal, it's one freakin flight. Get over yourself and stop being self centered. The world we live in today, smh. If only we could learn to love our neighbors as we love ourselves, the world would be a better place.
Why? He has a condition that requires businesses to accommodate that could potentially impact other customers.
You get it but you "bet" that there have been "many people" who haven't said anything and others "seem" to deal with it. For someone who gets it you sure need a lot of vague qualifiers to justify why you're smarter than the person who has the actual allergy. You'd rather they had their discretion with their own health taken from them so you can have some nuts?
This is a total #DeloitteDouche move
Everyone has to be special
Pretty sure OP unsubscribed so he doesn't have to face how wrong he was
OP, you probably missed the article last week that covered an 11 year old boy who died from his nut allergy. He died after a single bite of tainted cake and 3 epi pens. These folks MUST go to the hospital after exposure to be properly treated. That's not an option in the air.
As someone with a peanut allergy, I salute those who get it and hope the ones who don't never have to deal with it. I live in fear of someone breaking out peanuts next to me on a plane.
OP- I hope you develop a late blooming nut allergy and suffer sweet karma at its best you fucking asshole
I pray your kids have a horrible allergy when you have them EY1
OP -- you're an idiot.
I'm kind of surprised airlines don't just serve a snack that doesn't contain nuts.
Did you?
Right. But this person must have an epi pen. It's part of having an allergy. Don't need to make everyone else have to deal with it too
Wow, OP and SC1...1st world white girl problems!
I've seen this happen on a flight. Young 12 year old girl's sister asked the staff, and when they brushed it off and didn't take it seriously the little girl began bawling her eyes out with a panic attack thinking she was going to die. Parents had to step in and talk to entire staff about the severity. Suck it up and don't have your goddamn peanuts for a few hours.
I call troll for EY1. Nobody's that self centered
Honey roasted, BTA1 😂 But seriously, people have varying sensitivity. My wife is a pre school teacher in a "nut aware" school and she's in a "nut-free" room. Earlier this year they had a kid that had a peanut butter cup. A new teacher did not immediately wash his hands before he came into the room, and the allergic kid started having a reaction. It's serious.
I'm not here to argue science. My point is just be compassionate and considerate of others. We are all human, and if you would "prefer" to potentially cause a fatal allergic reaction to another human then I don't understand your moral compass and honestly don't want to. Good day
Ok I get it but I bet that there have been many people on flights that I have been on with a nut allergy as it fairly common. Others seem to deal with it. Just sayin..
