On average how many years for each title promotion at your firm? Staff to Senior to SM to M to SM to partner?

2 years to senior, 3 to manager. After that it would depend on what you did wrong to go from SM to M.

funny

I see my mistype now 😂My firm has staff for over 5 years before any movement

like

RSM has supervisor between senior and manager. Typical is 2 to senior, 2 to supervisor, 1 to manager and senior manager varies a lot more.

Lmaooo the comment above

Usually another 3 years to SM at big 4.

I know in RSM it’s hard to get SM. SM in mid tier you need to be selling

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth. I had been practising DSA for years and the competition is only ever growing.

Anyone move over to a portco role at a more senior level? Positive or negative experience?

5+ years of full-time job as developer and still waiting to reverse a LinkedList at work.

Since there is a heavy impetus on solving Tree, LinkedList, and Graph problems for tech interviews, it can naturally make freshers believe that these concepts will be used in day-to-day life at work. In reality, most of these DSA concepts are already implemented in some libraries our code uses and we rarely have to code such Algorithms by hand.

I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation.

I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?

At last I asked the interviewer about feedback as in where was I wrong. He said at couple of places and he explained me where was I wrong.
