On LinkedIn, all the resume and industry switching gurus talk about adding value, numbers, and results to your resume. In retail, I think significant stats that aren’t just how many credit cards you sold are difficult to find. Any suggestions on where to look? Should I start manually keeping track of different things that would look good for my next move?

Personally I think what matters is to show what additional values you provided (what you have done that somebody else in the same position would not think of doing or not be able to do) vs. just statement of numbers and results. Sometimes it can be shown by stats, other times it can be those small additional details like expanding the team’s visibility into other groups, senior management recognition, process streamline/automation etc.

My interpretation of adding value is more than just the numbers, but rather how you drove those numbers. For example (I'm not 100% familiar with retail banking sales but this is illustrative) :

Sold x number of credit cards

Vs

Developed new client prospecting program that increased credit card sales by x%

Both of these bullets have numbers in them, but the second bullet showcases how you specifically added value

If you’re specifically looking to switch industries, you’ll need to highlight accomplishments that fall outside of your current role.

At the end of every work day take 5 mins to note of everything you did above and beyond your role. If you find you’re not noting much, take it as a cue to push yourself and take on more.

What is the possibility of getting fired at PwC AC Bangalore? I always have this fear that I am not technically sound and someday they would find it and fire me. Sometimes I don't know many things and I'm not a quick learner as well. I try a lot but not able to grasp things faster and sometimes struggle a lot which leads to anxiety and shivering. I have 3yrs of experience.

How to deal with this or shall I think about other career options? I'm having difficult time now a days thinking about it.

Is the promotional structure in Big 4 TAS/FDD similar to how it is in Big 4 Audit? E.g. 2 yrs at associate, 2-3 yrs at senior, etc?
Or is it more merit based where you’re promoted when ready, e.g. 1-1.5 yrs at associate, 1.5-2 yrs at senior, etc?
If the latter, what’s the fastest you’ve seen someone get promoted and at which levels? Thanks

I had my final round of interview over a 45 min coffee conversation. It kicked off with the questions I had for them and there were none that was directed my way and the time was up. Im not sure which direction this concluded in but they said they would debrief and touch base early next week. I’m worried.

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Wondering what I should do.
