No stocks. She should get an ETF for diversification. VTI or VOO are very standard options. If she is more bullish or risk taking, she could pick something like ARKK.

ARKK, QQQ. Either or, and your friend’s 500 will grow very well

Wait for ARKX 🥵🥵

Anything ARK is money back lol

Brk.b - good for long term investors who are risk averse.

If she wants to park her money somewhere and forget about it for many years, she should just put it in a target date retirement fund or S&P500 index fund, or a 60/40 stock/bond fund if she has a shorter time horizon. Investing $500 in a single stock that you can forget about for the long term is quite silly.

like

Only $500 and she is okay with losing it all? Might as well throw in a beaten down / penny stock, or one of the alt coins

MMEDF for $500 please

26 y/o and a total investment newbie.

I have $100k from an annuity invested with Schwab and managed by a brokerage firm. My parents set me all up with this when I got access to the funds at age 21. So I’m not sure of the complete breakdown other than the fact that it’s diversified according to my tolerance for risk

Now, I also have $25k liquid cash I’d like to do something with. Should I just add it to the existing portfolio, or create a separate, self-managed account?

So many other good things happened to me this year - got married, got a puppy, moved etc, and yet the one thing i keep returning to is this decision as though i ruined my life. Ironically the only thing ruining my life is my outlook and yet i just can’t stop.
