One of my goals is to be in a more senior role by next year, what are some soft skills that are super key for product leaders?

I’m new to product , so, not really qualified to answer that. In my org, the most successful Prod Leaders are the folks who can understand a situation rapidly and are able to ask the right, relevant questions and make insightful comments in real time. This builds reputation and influence. Ultimately the influence leads to ‘getting stuff done’ in a large, matrixed org. Also these folks are good at relationship building and doing small follow up things and making others feel listened to. In short, they manage UP and DOWN in stressful situations.

Stay positive! Don’t judge anyone or gossip or say anything negative. Stay calm in tough situations. These are top qualities execs look for in people who are promotion material. Make your supervisor look good.

Definitely confidence and the ability to take initiative. You can certainly delegate, but don't be afraid to roll up your sleeves when need be. Also, communication skills are critical.

I second confidence as well. Funny I lack in both confidence and communication as a senior PM. Makes things very challenging for me but I am driven to get better at both.

Communication, communication and communication. Major key.

Consensus Building and doing it early in the process is crucial and arguably one of the most valuable skills in the workplace.

Bringing people into conversations early and over communicating makes everyone feel like they had a seat at the table in the decision making process. In reality, the actual decision may come down to a few key players, but people are less likely to push back and more likely to support decisions that they feel part of.

like

Effective communication, accountability, humility, admit you don't know what you don't know, always follow up to a question, relentless curiosity, compassion and empathy. Also with no true management role, persuasive and negotiation tactics.

Hi Group, seems like it should be basic format, but I just can not get it to work. a list of data and want to alternate shade (blue, white, blue, etc) each line but if I have multiple lines I want to group together and they all shade the same. I want to group by the same data in column A, and the number of rows that are the same could vary. So let’s say row 1& 2 same entry in column A(blue) row 3 different (white) row 4,5,6 same as each other different to other rows (blue) etc… help 🙏

Should I clarify the level of a designer having ordinary skill in the art first? Complex/Expensive article. TY!
