Isn't Neil Degrasse Tyson one of the most important astrophysicists in the world today and has written numerous books on various scientific topics? He's also an author, professor, and executive director at the Hayden Planetarium in New York City. He can call himself a scientist all he wants, for all I know.

like

Definitely. Popularity doesn't make his accomplishments less important.

How are they not real scientists?

I don’t consider them real scientists, but I still like them. For the most part they communicate science topics in a easily disgestible way, even if it’s overly simplistic with broad estimations

I love Bill Nye, I grew up with him, and even if he isn't a real scientist, he encouraged me to follow my career path.

I definitely consider Bill Nye and Neil Degrasse Tyson to be bona fide scientists. Both of them have accomplished an incredible amount in their respective fields of study, and have made breakthroughs that were essential for furthering human knowledge.

Bill Nye I know through 'Bill Nye the Science Guy'. He's a mechanical engineer by training and holds several patents related to aircraft and satellite designs. Not exactly a scientist but close.

These two men are highly respected figures in both the scientific community and among the general public because of their vast contributions to science education and awareness. Through their work they've opened up opportunities for people to learn more about our universe, inspiring generations to come.

I don't think Bill Nye is a scientist, but his work as a science communicator is just as important. I mean, he has inspired a lot of people to pursue a career in science and research.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist and author of many books! I think he is more of a scientist that I am lol

I think that people like Bill Nye and Neil Degrasse Tyson are real scientists. They have a lot of scientific knowledge and can communicate it in a way that is easy for people who are not scientists. I think that is a scientific labor as valid as research is

What would imply that they aren't "real"? The fact that they make science accessible? Not only are they real, but they have both influenced science in big ways.

911 Carrera S vs GTS

I really want to do a low key spec on my next car but it’s almost impossible to spec the GTS without black wheels/accents turning it into a more aggressive looking car.

Thoughts on if the GTS in a 7 speed is more engaging than the S enough to justify the compromise in wheel selection?

Additional Posts in Science & Research
