Do you mean contract instead of contact? It’s kind of a bummer to see so many OCM positions that are temporary. With so many companies hiring internally and growing their own change practices. Hopefully the transition from short term projects to long term development in organizations continues to grow. Unfortunately these short contracts hurt the credibility of real and long term impactful OCM capabilities in an organization. Why hire internally and have someone invested in the culture? We can hire a consultant and get things done in 20 weeks...

like

Also, talking out of experience, PROSCI is a glorified fmwk that the industry sold as necessary to do ocm work.
I don’t have it. I do have years of experience and usually i look at companies requiring that cert as companies not able to think outside of the prosci box.
There are at least 5 other fmwk in ocm better than prosci.

like

Why would i, or anyone in OCM, leave their practice for something ST?
Good luck hiring someone credible.

I’m contracting with a company in an admin role, but sometimes I’m asked to do projects that would normally be outsourced to a marketing or design company like designing a flyer for example. It’s not in my job description, but I have the skills to do this work and so why not ask me to do it? Is it out of the question to ask if I can be paid for that work under a separate fee as a consultant or something? Is that even possible?

What is the interview process like for Full Stack Developers / Senior Software Engineers? What should one expect during the coding round?

I studied computer science in school but I didn’t do well due to life coming in the way. I got poor grades but ultimately finished my degree without any internship experience.

After three months of job search, I started for 45K at a construction company as a Jr App Support. After a year I shifted in to QA for 65k and now after a year of QA, I have finally gotten a position as a software engineer for 78K base.

The imposter syndrome is finally gone!

Hang in there, hard work pays off.

How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? I have 10+ YOE in product, but some was at a tiny meh startup that fizzled out, some was in the digital wing of a large old healthcare org, and though my current role is GPM at a “name brand” tech company, it’s on the smaller side. Went to a good-but-not-Ivy school. What qualifications and experience are FAANG companies looking for when hiring mid-level PMs? Can I break in at mid-level from here?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice. I’ve been working as a RC for a tech company for 15 months making 45k (I know I’m underpaid) and I’m looking to pivot. I feel really burnt out in this role and would love to transition to something else, perhaps another department. I don’t really want to be in an entry level role again, so what kinds of jobs should I be looking at where I can transfer over my skills easily? I also have customer service experience but would love to stay away from that. TIA!
