Returning to work tomorrow like...

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

I am a former Fortune 500 - Fortune 100 recruiter recruiter & I work at Optum NOT in Talent Acquisition or HR:
I had to apply to 16 unique postings for the same title to get in.
Optum / UHG / UHC is VERY competitive to get into.
Referrals don’t mean much here - I’ve referred a lot of people who are in the industry, exceed the requirements and the preferred skills and they can’t seem to get in - so what you’re experiencing seems to be normal.
If you’re in the industry already, I’d keep applying - that product title could have 100 openings on 50 different teams over 4 different business units and some could offer more or less compensation…so, tailor your resume with the job descriptions key words - do NOT make your resume a career highlight - only put bullets that are relevant to product work - ideally in this industry, payer or provider.

Why is it so competitive? The pay doesn’t look particularly high based on Glassdoor
It’s competitive. I was told, One requisition could have 7,000 applicants
Do they have automated HR filtering process? The speed at which the applications get rejected and the timeliness of it seems likes it could be automated. But, I am also told that there are HR, who manually look at these applications. 🤷♀️

I have no connection to Optum, but sometimes we just aren't the best fit for roles and don't get interviews.
Someone mentioned that the title could have 100 openings on 50 teams over 4 different business units, and that's so true. I applied for no less than 25 consulting roles based out of MN (with remote available). I applied for a few in Texas and ended up landing a role. I think being local takes plays a huge role, as I am located in the Dallas area. Once I was educated on how much the company has going on, it started to make sense. Keep trying.
That seemed to work for me.
What avenue are you using to apply? My application was overlooked until I applied through a link on the job portal at my graduate program? Are you getting direct referrals? With so many applicants for one role I do think your avenue into the org makes a huge difference as to whether an actual person will see your resume.
Through the company job portal. Either I get an email from Optum for the referred post or I do a search on the company’s portal and apply .
Wouldn’t it be in the company’s best interest to be a bit transparent about their process. Their roles are well written to lure the everyday consultant. Perhaps , big D is helping them write these job profiles.😂
There has been a lot of internal movement due to the end of fiscal year and new goals coming out, so an internal applicant that qualifies would put external on hold, no matter how fitting you are for the position. Keep trying though and you never know when they’ll put you through for consideration.
No..I stopped trying. It’s looked like resume were getting rejected like clockwork. I’d rather spend my time and energy on a firm that truly is looking for candidates . It’s a productive use of time. Getting rejected without reason is frustrating as such and brings down our confidence.
