P3 your inner Deloitte is leaking
Poverty salary
I don't know about "worst" but "smallest" of Big 4 yes. I think EY is clearly the "worst" at least from an advisory standpoint...
That being said, my salary is the same as my friend who started at deloitte when I started at KPMG 🤔 so depends on practice?
Deloitte advisory pays generally pays quite a bit less than consulting. I agree with you totally about culture being incredibly important though. If you love it there and enjoy going to work that's the most important thing.
@op. If you're truly happy at K, then you're already ahead of most people in the working world regardless of what firm, job, industry etc. Just be a good person and pass it forward. Idk why people can't just be happy for other people's happiness
@OP - The faux elitism on this app is annoying on a good day since 1) most ppl within the general populous have no idea what any of our firms do and 2) the ppl bad mouthing the other firms have generally never worked there and only speak from the point of view of their own firm and firm Kool-Aid. I spent time at K and really enjoyed myself. The firm definitely stands behind its ppl and focuses on satisfaction. The pay was within range once you got the levels/years of experience accounted for correctly. My choice to leave was about changes in specific group leadership and strategic direction that weren't where I wanted to be.
KPMG had good folks. If I recall my consulting history (I may be wrong), but you were the last of the audit firms to split audit off and start a consulting arm- so you're just a bit younger and catching up. You're the little brother that the older brothers like to tease, but it's with love.
"I know a lot of people at K getting more than D" 🤔 😂
If you enjoy working at KPMG then you should see a doctor for incompetencia - It's a common disease among KPMG folks
A1 I think all of us recognize the salary is low but the 5 weeks PTO, flexibility, support, and large expense accounts make up for it? At least for me
OP, not necessarily. I know a lot of people at K getting more than D and Pdubs. We are just the smallest but fastest growing.
It's mostly uninformed groupthink. Had to turn down an offer at k about 6 months ago (would've been a nice salary bump too fwiw) and definitely wish I'd been able to take it.
D2..unless a consulting analyst makes 100k I will have to disagree..1st year advisory SC here..analytics practise
@SC1 Couldn't have said it better myself!
Update: I was original OP and I hated it lol left for EY. I now understand why kpmg is made fun of
Advisory
If you don't dress nice, you won't fit in Deloitte
Just to give you an idea - Deloitte senior consultant salary is consulting analyst salary
