Being in the office serves no benefit for tech in this sense. For tech, call all the directors in your vertical/horizontal once a week and ask about pursuits (build rapport as well).
1. Going to the office will not get you staffed
2. After your first project, you are responsible for your staffing
3. OP, reach out to the directors in your practice and similar practices and offer support for proposals, whitepapers, etc. They need to have your name fresh in their minds during the weekly staffing calls

Yeah you better try harder and keep in touch with demand management and your RP. They say first year utilization doesn't matter but during the "round table" lack of utilization cost people their bonus...and for some their jobs.

What kind of shitty leadership do other firms have? It's your partner's responsibility to make sure you are staffed...
What practice group are you? My group is at 100% utilization
K1 - I disagree. It's your own responsibility to get yourself staffed. You need to make partners, managers, etc aware of your skills & availability. You can't just wait around.
