If you have prior consulting experience, prett good chance its 1 yr at SC, 1 year at Associate. There is a decent bump in pay half way through A.
What is associate / 1st year em salary? Just so I can compare trajectories
I was an experienced hire, came in as an SC with a higher competing offer elsewhere. I was confused why they wouldn’t match it at the time, but now that I’ve been here a while I can confirm that they really don’t make exceptions - pay at each level is consistent across the firm. Picked OW anyway and sooo glad I did.
BCG1 Don’t think we have moved EM and P comp much in the last couple years so far, our pay increases have mostly been bottom of the ladder.
Chief
Not very high, by the looks of it.
What are the different EM TC?
But no, not really option to negotiate, yeah, pay is below market, and yeah, people are great which (sort of /sometimes) makes up for it
Wait so are their mid year raises? Sorry to clarify coming from consulting with 4 YOE - where I am now it’s annual reviews / promotion / raises etc all happen same time. Is it different at OW?
No, it’s annual. But there are different levels (1-3) of SC and A. You are pretty likely to make it at least halfway through A by the end of year 2, which is when there is a decent pay bump.
Pay ranges are retrospective so e.g. a low ASC pay is generally for a promoted SC.
Assuming average performance I’d expect pay to roughly double in 3 years since there is a significant bump at ASC2. Outside of that bump, would expect annual total comp increase to be closer to 15% for average performance.
I would recommend ZS/Big4. Theoretically you could make up the comp difference if you were a strong performer, but there are no guarantees that will happen/historically we don’t have the greatest training for experienced hires. If you are looking at a 3 year comp window, most realistic is at best breaking even and at worst stuck below.
Yeah but OP is already manager, so the chance is very high that he/ she rises through the ranks quickly (at least SC & ASC) and makes up for the comp difference
What about associate salaries?
Coming in as an SC post-MBA is a very low offer… Our normal MBA offer is mid-level ASC which comes with a significantly greater pay
