Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

We did, yes. The help was good to have, and didn’t seem fair to our full time nanny to tell her she wouldn’t be paid for a few months before coming back to work.
Congrats on the pregnancy!
Absolutely!! You can even start daycare for #2 a few hours a day before you go back to work
Totally! For all the reasons stated above and just for your own sanity. Just like delivering a baby, no ones handing out gold stars when you return to work so take as much you and newborn time as possible or else you will be tired and regretful.
Yup. We would have lost the slot in daycare otherwise and having quiet time to bond with our second was awesome.
Hell yeah. Newborns are a ton of work, you’ll need the space.
Yes. We kept daycare on-going for our 3.5 year old. That said, I generally dropped off later or picked up earlier, and even took a bunch of half days with him once i got into the groove a bit more. But in the early days when it’s all nursing/bottles or sleeping, etc - doing that with an active 3.5 yo was beyond my capabilities :)
Yes. 100%. No way was I going to be able to handle a toddler and a newborn.
Hell yes. I was surprised the amount of people who side eyed me for not chasing a toddler while trying to breastfeed a colicky newborn all while healing from a CS. But we all know people love to judge moms. 🤷♀️
Adding - along with making things easier for me, I think it’ll be better for #1 to be in her same routine, her class, her teachers, her friends, etc. There will be plenty of change for her so keeping things somewhat normal for her is important.
Yes absolutely keep Daycare for #1! Keep your sanity.
Yes
Yep. Saved our sanity have a couple of days to just focus on the little one
Planning on it!
I’m pregnant with my second and this question has honestly not even crossed my mind before reading this thread. Daycare for #1 all the way!!
Yes every little bit helps
