I’m with your wife on this one brother. I dislike them both.
But…I do like that you’re thinking about options. Hopefully your team appreciates it.
100%
thx for chiming in!
That is a tough choice, and they both have real drawbacks. I'd be inclined to go with the four-day work week just because I'm a cynical person and I think all WFH is going to be phased out anyway. And I'm sure I'd find a use for the extra day off.
Ya I think if I was a FT worker and ENJOYED MY JOB Id prefer a 4 day workweek. But I as a parent WFH will be more valuable a kiddos grow.
Don’t think there’s a right answer just personal preference. Hope more people find theirs!
depends on salary.
for savings purposes definitely 100% WFH is better
Is the 4 day work week still 8-hour workdays? I've seen some people suggesting working 4 ten hour days and I frankly think that's a horrible idea. So if it was still 7.5-8 hour days, I'd take the 4-day work week. But otherwise, I'd take option A because I'd use the days at home to catch up on chores while I'm working and then still have more time on the weekends
Interesting. I’d assume 10hr days or at least 9 would be standard.
But now that you pose 32hr week I think that’d be another incentive for org to get people back in office.
Option C just like pre COVID - 100% wfh unless on client travel.
I understand your wife because both options have their disadvantages. If I were to pick though, I'd choose 4 day workweek. Hybrid is just another word companies use for back to office. If you're hybrid and you're on-site 3 days a week, eventually they'll make you go back fully. If they said 4 days remote, then maybe I'd consider it. Otherwise, give me that extra day off to do my own things.
Fair. The bait and switch is not a good look.
Honestly I hate both of those options as well and I am with your wife. I loved being 100% work from home during covid and never saw a reason for them to force us all back into the office.
If your org forced one of the options on you would you leave for another WFH?
4 day work week: 2 @ home and 2 @ the office. I know some people can't concentrate at home. I just like that you don't have the commute every day.
Option C - 2 days in office, 3 WFH. Thats what i would like but our office does Option A.
