Plaintiff lawyers like to argue that medical doctors can testify to medical causation, and defense lawyers like to argue that a medical doctor is not qualified to testify to causation. Who is right and why?

Depends on the state and physician specialty. In most states plaintiffs have to get expert testimony on causation or they lose. But an OB likely won’t be competent to testify about causation in a neurology case. Yes, there are exceptions. But as a plaintiff I wouldn’t count on them. On the defense side, if plaintiff has a causation expert, you should too if you’re contesting liability.

Does anyone have advice/ experience with disclosing or advocating for your ADHD support needs in highly toxic environments? Or getting formal disability accommodations?

So, recently got put on a PIP after six months at my new job., two days after I told my boss and HR I recently learned I have a cognitive disability caused by an illness. The PIP was mostly because I forgot some deadlines, but also they said I need to be more professional in emails (even though others use zero punctuation and a lot of emojis. To clients.) and simultaneously ask more questions and ask fewer questions. Should I just assume this is unattainable and look for a new job again?

Lots of talk about CohnReznick on here lately… let’s address a few points.

1) Yes, our salaries are in line with B4. Happy to discuss specifics with the skeptics.
2) We are one of the few firms still actively hiring people without FDD experience.
3) Our WLB is miles better than B4.
4) Yes, we are paying strong referral bonuses because our practice has literally doubled in the past year.
5) All of the above is due to a strong pipeline and significant growth within the practice.
