Anyone from EYP…I’m applying to “Strategy & Transactions Working Capital Consultant/Senior”. I have the experience, six sigma, PMP etc stated in the description. How can I proactively position myself to earn the interview? I’m afraid I might get auto rejected because I have way more than 2 years experience, but I know industry experience is weighted different. Appreciate any help, insight, or anyone willing to chat. Been doing it a long time, pre and post MBA. Really depends on if you like it and are good at it. On quick reflection, some thoughts:
Pros (I tend to do company side): 1. Often pretty interesting, 2. Usually have attention of senior management throughout and working on one of the biggest issues facing the client, 3. build great relationships with people at the client and other professionals from "going to battle" together.
Cons: 1. Deadlines often externally mandated (defaults, running out of cash) and subject to bad surprises so things have to be done in compressed timeframes and situations can be unpredictable. 2. Can be stressful - whether you do a good job matters, but the flip side is there is a lot of pressure not to mess up. 3. Often working with stressed out clients.
Thanks FTI 1! That was one of the most helpful posts. I have had trouble envisioning the day to day of the job. This was helpful!
