How’s your total comp only at 125K? Doesn’t D pay 160k just on base this year? And 140-150k the last two years?

Ha. I’m definitely on the lookout for a PM offer instead of working 60-70hrs for peanuts. 😅

My PM friends seem to have it pretty easy and make good money. I’d prolly go with that. However, strategy and biz oops will get you excellent experience and a clear path to senior management but it can be quite taxing / long hours.

Separate question but related to your comment. If you want to optimize for upward mobility, what is the best choice PM or bizops / strategy

Curious to know, as an SC2, what level PM do u exit to? S product manager seems like the equivalent level but they seem to want prior product experience which is hard to get in consulting

If you have an MBA from a target school then L6 product is reasonable, just might be potentially different than campus recruitment. I’m an experienced hire but have interviewed and hired MBA and other experienced candidates. Feel free to DM with any questions

How can I set the stage this year to negotiate a lower billable hours expectation instead of a raise? As a woman I'm hesitant to be open about my reason: I want more time at home with my kids. I lateraled to this firm a year ago for WLB and they are indeed flexible on WFH which helps. Salary is a bit below average for mid-size firms like mine in my area, and I didn't get a raise or bonus this year because I didn't hit the billable target (1900). Ideally I'd keep my salary but go to 1600 hours.

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
